Add crack test

The ‘Add Crack Test’ function allows you to add crack tests to Rims and Wheels, assemblies, and adapter plates.  This function allows you to add the following information:

  • Date of crack test
  • Hours at test
  • Cost of test
  • Select next crack test either by hours or months.
  • Change its disposition
  • Add crack test details
  • Upload multiple crack test reports.

When adding a crack test to an assembly, the system will automatically associate the crack test information with the rim or wheel.

The ‘Add Crack Test’ function is accessed from the rim/wheel and assembly objects ‘Add’ context menu.

After adding and saving a crack test, there will be times when you need to review a crack test. There are two ways to access crack tests for an asset, by ‘Display Crack Test’ and ‘Edit Crack Test’. These two functions are accessed by the ‘View’ and ‘Edit context menus respectively.  The difference between the two are that the ‘Display Crack Test’ function only allows you to view and email a crack test, while ‘Edit Crack Test’ allows you to view, edit and delete and email a crack test.

To view test reports click on the report icon.  If multiple reports have been uploaded, click the view icon on the desired report to open it.

Assigned crack test documents

Additionally, you can email a crack test.  The email will contain information regarding the crack test and any assigned documents attached at attachments.

For the ‘Total Cost’ and ‘Cost per Hour’ to be accurate, the underlying assets must have a purchase cost assigned.  This can be done when creating the asset or by retrospectively editing the asset

When attaching a crack test report, make sure that the report is in PDF format as TMaSS only supports PDF documents at the current time
